A Safe Place To Begin Again

A women came into Partners INW, having never been here before. She had two kids in the car and seemed emotional at reception. I asked if she was ok and she said she was nervous because she just left a domestic violence situation and had nothing for the night and knew she would be on the streets with her children.

We were able to provide her food, clothes, hygiene products, and telephone numbers to non-profits that support women and children in her situation. She was emotional, and overwhelmingly grateful for our support.

Starting Over With Hope

A woman came into our clothing store looking for anything she could get, like clothes and basic items to help her start over. She had just moved out of an apartment that was severely infested with mold, and unfortunately, she had to throw away nearly everything she owned. On top of that, she is grieving the recent loss of her husband and is facing significant financial hardship. She shared how overwhelming it has been to rebuild while grieving.

She was incredibly thankful that Partners was there to support her when she needed it most. Being able to provide her with essential clothing and resources made a meaningful difference, and she expressed deep gratitude for the help and kindness she received.

Dressing For A New Opportunity

I also loved talking with a boyfriend and girlfriend in the clothing bank the other week who were in looking for some nicer clothes because they both had a job interview. We put clothes aside for situations like that and they had a great time trying clothes on and each found something nice to wear and felt great about themselves.

Helping Families Help Family

We also had a woman in the other day that had just needed to bring a family member in to live with her that had just lost their housing and needed more support with groceries. She said she heard about Partners and had no idea how much food fit in a shopping cart. She was very thankful and said we made an already difficult situation much easier to handle.
